While it would be easiest to travel light, don't be tempted to put your safety
at risk. It is up to you to decide what risks to take.
Standard equipment
Good quality, comfortable walking boots are essential for an endurance
challenge of this level, as are good walking socks. Suitable boots should
be able to be worn all day with no discomfort.
Given the length of the Welsh 3000s, a backpack will also be needed, to
carry all of the below, ideally with a water bladder.
- Water
- Map and compass
- Headtorch
- Waterproofs
- Spare socks
- Mobile phone / radio

Nutrition
Depending on your preferences, you'll either want to take a couple of litres of water or perhaps a sports drink with you. Depending on your target time,
you may also wish to take energy bars, or any nutritous food that is easy
to eat on the go.
